Messrs. Willy Tomboy and Xavier Heylen had both a extensive career in the Toyota Motor Group in various countries and responsibilities. Together with a corporate expertise and experience they developed a thorough inside knowledge of the Japanese Business Culture and the one of Toyota in particular. The gentlemen will share their rich experiences with this specific corporate and business culture, which is key to understand the success and problems of the Japanese Model. The work shop will consist in a testimony by the speakers and a dialogue with the audience.

Willy Tomboy is master in economics and environmental management from the Antwerp University. He has studied as well at the Wharton Business School and the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne. He has had a career of 27 years in General Motors and 17 years in Toyota. For the first he worked internationally in Belgium, Germany and the US. In Toyota he became responsible for Environmental applications and Corporate Citizenship. He is now a consultant in this area.
Xavier Heylen has a degree of master in economics from the Antwerp University and graduated as well from the European Management Programme at universities in France, Spain and the UK. He has a career of 20 years in Toyota in various international responsibilities. Amongst others he acted as country manager of the business in Hungary, Czechia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Norway and Sweden. He is now advising small enterprises in the high tech sector.
