Four healthcare institutions welcome Spanish start-up with solution for chr

On 16 and 17 March we welcomed Markus Wilhelms, CEO of the Spanish start-up usMIMA. He presented his product MOWOOT to three residential care centers in the Kempen region and to a general hospital. MOWOOT is and medical product to remedy chronic constipation in a non-drug way.

MOWOOT is a non-invasive, non-medicated solution for chronic constipation. It stimulates the colon to facilitate intestinal transit. The product is inspired by the abdominal massage techniques used by physiotherapists to stimulate the movement of the colon. The product is not (yet) available in Belgium but the company has a distributor in the Netherlands and Germany.

LiCalab facilitated four demo talks with healthcare institutions: AZ Herentals, WZC Halmolen (Zoersel), WZC Zilverlinde (Olen) and WZC De Wending (Turnhout). Markus explained the medical qualification of MOWOOT and gave a demonstration on its use. Afterwards the care professionals had the opportunity to ask questions and to apply for a possible pilot study. The healthcare professionals see MOWOOT as a promising product and are curious to see the results in practice. In addition, they were interested in the results that followed from the clinical studies that MOWOOT has previously gone through.
