The Vitalise project approaches its end, which is due on 31 March 2024. Time to meet physically once more to get everyone aligned for the final sprint towards the finish.

The European project VITALISE will close in a few months. Although lots of work has been done by the 19 partners from 11 different countries, there are still some hurdles to overcome. At the end of November, we travelled down to Madrid to take stock.

During the first day, we looked at the deliverables and objectives ahead, what steps are needed and which partners should be involved to achieve the various goals.

During the second day, we focused on the project's flagship: opening up research infrastructure across national borders. The Vitalise partners explained the current status of the studies within the joint research activities on the three themes of rehabilitation, transition in care and care innovations in the home environment (Joint Research Activities (JRAs) – Vitalise-Project). Results from these joint research activities as well as collaborations with external researchers from outside the Vitalise consortium will be opened up to the public as much as possible via the Vitalise Discovery portal platform, which was recently launched (Virtual Access to the Datasets – Vitalise-Project).

At the end of the meeting, we visited the healthcare living lab of the host university Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), called LifeSpace. They conduct research on personalised health services, active and healthy ageing, and accessibility and inclusion in terms of new technologies.

Vitalise and LiCalab are already looking forward to the project's closing event, which will take place in Brussels on 20 February 2024. More information: click here.
