If you meet any of the following criteria, you are entitled to facilities to fulfil your mandate as best you can.

  • You are a member of the student council.
  • You have a mandate in a participation body or governing body of Thomas More.
Co-determination bodies are: general student council, academic council, student council and campus consultations.
  • You have a mandate in a participation body or governing body of VVS or the Association KU Leuven.

Every year after the elections, the participation coach of the Student Council passes on your name as  a student representative to your programme managers and care coordinators. They decide on the allocation of facilities and communicate with you about this.

What do these facilities entail?

  • Participation in educational activities
If you cannot attend a compulsory educational activity (including workplace learning and internship) because of your mandate, you are legitimately absent. You notify the teacher concerned as soon as possible and at the latest before the start of the educational activity.
  • Participation in evaluation activities
If you cannot be present at an evaluation activity because of your mandate, you are legitimately absent. You inform the ombudsperson as soon as possible and at the latest before the start of the evaluation activity. You provide the teacher concerned or the ombudsperson with a copy of the invitation to the meeting as proof.

There are no evaluation facilities for meetings of Local Student Councils and participation bodies of Thomas More at unit or programme level. Evaluation facilities are possible for meetings of the core board of a participation body or governing body of Thomas More, VVS or the Association KU Leuven.
