Arriving by plane

  • Brussels Airport Zaventem is Belgium’s main airport, located just outside of Brussels. From the airport, there are regular and convenient train and bus connections to all of the major cities in Belgium.  You can plan your connecting journey in advance or on the spot with the train app. You can buy tickets for the train in the airport.
  • Brussels Charleroi South is another major airport located a bit further away from Brussel and specialised in low-cost flights. Depending on your final destination in Belgium, transportation to and from Brussels Charleroi South can be more challenging. Be sure to check out your connecting options in case of late evening arrival.
  • Eindhoven Airport is a low-cost airport close to our campuses in Geel and Antwerp. Eindhoven is in the Netherlands, but you have several options for transportation to Belgium.  You can take the bus to Eindhoven Central Station and the train to Antwerp Central Station. You can travel from there to your campus city.

Arriving by train or bus

  • By train | Living in a neighbouring country? Your best option to travel to Belgium might be the train!  No limitation on luggage, sustainable, cheap - the earlier you book, the less you will pay for your ticket - and if you take the high-speed train also quick!
  • By bus | International busses are a good alternative when travelling on a budget! Eurolines, Flixbus, Blablablacar connect major cities within Europe.

Renting a bike on campus

Did you know, Belgium is one of Europ's most bike-friendly countries? Soon you'll find out that many students prefer a bike as their go-to means of local transport.

Thomas More bikes are available for rent per semester:

  • a regular or folding bike (€ 35/semester)
  • an electric bike (€ 60/month)
  • a speed bike (€ 100/month)

Our bikes are fully checked and maintained on campus. Book your Thomas More student bike after your registration.

Carpooling

Want to join one of our Belgian students for a ride? Or maybe you have/rent your own car and wouldn't mind splitting the cost of fuel? Then carpooling could be right for you!

Toogethr app to find your perfect match!

To help find a carpool partner, Thomas More students can use the Toogethr app.  Simply log in with your Thomas More e-mail address, enter your class schedule and the app does the rest.  That's how easy it is to find a carpool partner, even outside your study programme. Also, for each ride you make together you collect points that you can exchange for nice gifts such as lunch vouchers at the student restaurant on your campus.

Get yourself a buddy!

Your buddy is your first local friend! A buddy is a local student who can help you adjust to life in Belgium.
When you apply for a buddy, you will be paired with a Thomas More student based on shared interests and hobbies. Your buddy can show you the nicest places around town and in Belgium and introduce you to the local student life. Plus your buddy can help you with practical questions, like registering at the city hall, finding a place to live, planning your arrival in Belgium, helping you find your classes and much more!
