Heleen studied Sociology at the University of Antwerp. She focused on reference budgets, minimum income protection and social policy.
After her studies, she joined the Centre for Social Policy Herman Deleeck at the University of Antwerp. With a strong interest in social work practice and the conviction that research should contribute to it, Heleen started as a researcher at CEBUD in 2021. To delve even deeper into the world of social work, Heleen also obtained a Bachelor's degree in social work in June 2023.
Outside of work, Heleen loves to travel by train to a beautiful destination.
