In H2020 project Vitalise, LiCalab is working together with 18 other European living labs on harmonized standards and procedures for living labs. How do we proceed? Which tools do we use? What are our basic capabilities? What do you need to build a quality living lab? The Vitalise partners agreed on this in a first workshop on June 1th, under the leadership of ENoLL, the European network of living labs.

In the workshop "How to evaluate the harmonization of living labs, their standards & procedures?" the partners engaged in a creative exchange of information about their way of working. This resulted in a list of priority characteristics, capacities and values that living labs stand for, such as user involvement, user centered design, multi-stakeholder panels and networks.

The partner living labs are also working on an overview of procedures that each 'standard' living lab uses, with an explanation of their definition, purpose and result. In this way ENoLL and the Vitalise partners want to create standards that make it easy to work together across national borders and that are easy to transfer to starting living labs. The standards also help to carry out evaluations across living labs.
