On Wednesday 31 March, LiCalab welcomed 28 international partners as part of the Digital Health in a Circular Economy (DiCE) project. The setting: campus National in Antwerp.

DiCE's objective is to extend the life of digital health applications by developing and testing solutions across the full product lifecycle. The central issue is: 'How do we reduce the environmental impact of medical e-waste and how do we develop circular solutions to recycle components of digital health tools?'

In the coming months, we will prepare three pilot projects in Belgium, Slovenia and Spain. The pilot projects aim to investigate and compare collection methods for medical e-waste. In the pilot, we will test different motivation strategies, a smart collection box and cooperation with and between logistics partners, among other things.

On Wednesday 31 January, 28 partners gathered at Campus National in the heart of Antwerp. Through workshops and lectures, we shared knowledge about, and insights into, the circularity of healthcare. These insights are an important part of the design of the various pilot projects and prepare for the next steps.
