Design thinking & Customer Centricity is the key skillset to your future

The pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation in the travel industry & beyond. Besides the importance of integrating new technologies in tourism, it is a combination of having a genuine customer centric approach with applying design thinking to unique service and experience offerings, that will differentiate one business from another and play a major role in the success of this transformation. It is these skillsets that we trigger and put at the heart of our courses.

  • Overview

The tourism and leisure industry are one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sectors: new markets, new concepts, new trends and a growing demand for sustainable tourism, hospitality and travel offerings. This programme combines business acumen, tourism development, and languages together with a diverse set of fundamental tourism & hospitality courses. We encourage our students to look at the industry from an interrelated perspective touching on leisure tourism concepts, business travel concepts and hospitality concepts.
We advise students to choose courses for approx.. 30 ECTS per semester.

Please read the prerequisites of every course carefully before applying.
You can find detailed information by clicking on the course. Thomas More remains the right to change the learning agreement upon arrival if the student doesn’t meet the requirements to enter the course.
Language courses: exchange students must include in their application a document stating their actual level of the chosen language.
The combination of courses from different phases can be restricted by planning issues.

The academic year in a nutshell

  • Courses

Below you can find an overview of the courses ( under reservation of changes), with the number of credits per phase. Credits express how many hours you need on average to process the subject matter (incl. lessons). Count about 25 to 30 hours for 1 study credit.

    • A complete semester counts 30 ECTS study points. As an exchange student you will take up the mandatory (compulsory) courses mentioned below for a total of 21 ECTS. In addition, you must choose one of the programme specific packages (phase 1, phase 2 or phase 3) for a total of 9 ECTS.
    • A combination of courses from different packages is NOT an option.
    • A student can only choose an elective course if one of the mandatory courses has already been accredited by your home university. This option may be restricted due to schedule conflicts, except for online courses.
    • Would you like to know the detailed content of each subject? Check the programme guide.
    • Language courses: exchange students must include in their application a document stating their actual level of the chosen language.
