  • First semester | You will get a basic introduction to Journalism and Media Law and Ethics during the whole semester. In two modules or ‘tracks’, you will explore both the human side of storytelling as well as the basics of conflict reporting over the course of 6 to 8 weeks each.  You work with students of different nationalities on articles and reports, which are published on the English language section of our 21bis.be platform.
  • Second semester | You get courses in Journalistic Research and Online & Digital Creative Skills, besides two tracks focusing on Migration and Climate reporting.
  • You end the abridged programme with an internship of 10 weeks at the editorial office or newsroom of a media company during the summer.
  • Below you can find an overview of the courses ( under reservation of changes), with the number of credits per phase. Credits express how many hours you need on average to process the subject matter (incl. lessons). Count about 25 to 30 hours for 1 study credit.

Internships in the heart of Europe

As a profession, journalism transcends borders. Envision yourself interning for English-language media outlets like the Brussels Times, Politico or Reuters, all situated in the heart of Europe. We also support you in your search for an international internship.

Growth mindset

We empower and encourage your leadership by offering a unique coaching trajectory, aimed at helping you to define your professional goals in life and acquire a growth mindset. We also work with a personal mentor in your final year to help you make the switch from student to entrepreneurial journalist.
