Major in Electronics

Location: De Nayer -Campus De Nayer

You’re passionate about smart electronics. You’re inquisitive and enjoy disassembling electronic devices to discover how they work. You want to immerse yourself in the high-tech world of electronics.

This programme will keep you on your toes. Theory is immediately put into practice. Expect a variety of projects and practice enterprise labs from the very start. This way, you will learn to analyse and solve problems while designing, developing and even producing new electronic devices.

Both your theoretical and hands-on classes will be taught fully in English, giving you the tools to learn the language in a practical way - an important asset in the sector!

Want to specialise in Hardware? Then, you will learn to design, develop and produce your own embedded hardware in our unique Embedded Factory. You will design electrical circuits from scratch and develop your own hardware, web applications and mobile solutions. Discover how professional audio and video are created.

Are you more into Software? Learn to create your own applications. You will build analogue and digital circuits, gain experience in programming micro-controllers and get a general view of the world of electronics. The world of smart electronics will be at your fingertips!

All of this hard work will culminate in an (international) final traineeship and Bachelor’s thesis in the third year.

Brand new makerspace

In our brand new Makerspace you can do some experimenting yourself, try out technological marvels, build your first prototype or even produce in small volumes. In this workshop we provide all kinds of machines, materials and tools. Imagine a room full of 3D printers, laser cutters and milling machines: you’ll find it all!

Embedded factory

Campus De Nayer is the only university of applied sciences in Flanders that has an Embedded Factory Lab with CAD tools, a Pick & Place machine, reflow ovens, drying cabinets, professional soldering stations and visual inspection equipment – state-of-the-art-devices that you will also come across later in your workspace. Thanks to this unique infrastructure, you will have all the necessary tools to turn an idea into an excellent end product.

KNX certification

KNX technology is the worldwide standard for home and building automation and is used in areas such as lighting, security, water control, energy management and consumer electronics. You can even obtain a KNX certificate during your course and add an extra asset to your CV!
