Data Science, Protection & Security

  • If you take this course as a full-time programme, you can graduate in three years.
  • You will take up 180 credits, divided into three phases.
  • Your classes are organised during the week as daytime classes.
  • Put theory to practice tackling real-life projects from the corporate world.
  • Get an inside perspective during an intensive internship.
  • Experience a hands-on approach with project work organised by lecturers with extensive industry experience.

Programme

  • Phase 1 | You learn how to use technological tools to process databases and large amounts of data. You will get acquainted with efficient programming and scripting in C# and Python, among others, and will be introduced to data protection and cyber security. You will also learn the basics of entrepreneurship and management. A good balance between technology and business acumen provides a solid foundation!
  • Phase 2 | You refine your technical and business skills. You dive deeper into programming, web technologies and data science, while also expanding your knowledge of data protection and data security. You gradually learn to put all the pieces of the puzzle together to transform business requests into data models for smart analysis.
  • Phase 3 | In the third phase you delve even deeper into advanced (predictive) techniques. To exploit the added value of big data, you explore and apply the principles of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). You will also learn a lot about security by applying Privacy by Design principles and hacking AI systems. During your 12-week internship, you will fully immerse yourself in your preparation for work life.

Below you can find an overview of the courses ( under reservation of changes), with the number of credits per phase. Credits express how many hours you need on average to process the subject matter (incl. lessons). Count about 25 to 30 hours for 1 study credit.

In practice

Here, daily life is an intercultural adventure with students from across the world. You'll build a global network and make English your main language. The world becomes your home, enriching you with diverse perspectives.

Personal coaching

Each year is divided into two parts that last 13 weeks. During those 13 weeks we focus intensively on a number of classes. At the end of the 13-week period, exams are organised. This allows us to spread out the study load more evenly throughout the academic year. What’s more, this means we can focus more on personal mentorship and feedback. Practical exercises, group projects, cooperation and sharing knowledge are all central. You will receive this mentorship and knowledge from (guest) lecturers with a firm grounding in the business world. Add to that a healthy no-nonsense approach, and you end up with a unique mix of authenticity, expertise and coaching.
