Research

This study was commissioned by the Flemish government. It maps the functioning and organisation of Flemish recognised debt mediation institutions and their partnerships through an extensive survey of all recognised institutions. In addition, it outlines a possible model for subsidising these institutions.

Results

The result of a Delphi survey conducted on this topic was that this funding model should both promote quality and be based on the resource needs of the organisations. An extensive literature review and interviews with institutions and experts have led to a clear vision of what the desired quality can look like and what the critical success factors are (appropriate forms of work, competencies of care providers and structural conditions at the organisational level).
